Most of our children transfer to Kilburn Junior School, which is opposite our school. We have very close links with the Junior School staff and children, and we often share resources and facilities e.g. Junior School Nature Reserve.
Staff from both schools regularly meet up to discuss teaching and learning provision, or to write joint letters/information to be sent our to parents/carers. Both Headteachers work together, and as part of a local cluster of schools.
Both Infant and Junior children move between the schools to take part in competitions and extra curricular events, or to watch each other e.g. in Christmas shows. Year 6 Junior children also have the opportunity to train to become ‘Sports Mini-Leaders’ and lead games with Infant children at lunchtimes.
We have a specific ‘Transition’ programme for our Year 2 children, with a planned programme of events. These include visits by their new teachers, visits to the Junior School, and joint picnics/projects in the Summer term.
